ACRA - BASKETBALL - ACRA is hosting open gym basketball for kids at the Ione Junior High School on Friday's from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. The format is "pick up game" style for the 12 and older crowd.  The cost is $3.00 per person per night.  For more information, call the ACRA office at 209-257-1764.

ED HUGHES MEMORIAL ARENA is now available for "Night Rides" on non-scheduled evenings.  The usual cost of $7.00 per rider applies with an additional charge of $10.00 an hour to run the lights.  Please keep in mind the arena is closed at 5:00 p.m. the night before events.  You can arrange a "Night Ride" by calling 209-274-2412, ext. 100.

Bulldog Blanket Fundraiser for 6th Grade Science Camp - As a fundraiser for the 6th Grade Science Camp, Ione Elementary Bulldog blankets have been ordered with established in 1858 printed on each blanket.  The 48" X 70" blanket will sell for $38 each.  Advance orders are being taken now.  Contact Gaylene Adair at 209-304-2242 to reserve your blanket or mail a check payable to Ione Elementary PFC, P.O. Box 1627, Ione, CA  95640.

Ione Pool Opens June 7th - The Ione recreational swimming season opens on Saturday, June 7th at 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Weekday hours are 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7:30-9:00 PM on Friday evenings.  Lap swim is Monday-Thursday 12 noon to 1:PM, and 7:00 to 8:00 PM, and 7:00 to 7:30 PM on Fridays.

Farmer's Market Opens June 9 - Back for its second season is the Ione Farmer's Market.  The new location is Ione Street at Main and Highway 104 (next to Castle Cuts).  The Ione Farmer's Market will feature local vendors with fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, local olive oil, crafts and more.  The Market will be open each Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. June 9-October 6.
