Eight churches, numerous Scouting and fraternal organizations, annual hometown and patriotic events and strong soccer and little leagues attest to the close knit community spirit of Ione. This community spirit and emphasis on quality of life is best illustrated by the Howard Park multi-use facility, an ambitious project under construction that already provides abundant recreational and social opportunities for all age groups.
