Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance - Review and Possible Adoption-Assembly
Bill 1881 requires all local government agencies to adpopt a water efficient
landscape ordinance. The intent of the ordinance is to require all new or rehabilitated landscape projects of a specific size that apply for an improvement
plan, building permit, or site plan review to meet certain standards with regard
to landscape watering. Staff has reviewed the model ordinance prepared by the
State Department of Water Resources (DWR) and is proposing that this ordinance, with specific amendments consistent with State law, be adopted as part of Title 18
(Environmental Protection) of the City's Municipal Code.
