Wastewater Compliance Project

The City of Ione is embarking on a new water recycling project to help keep city wastewater ratepayer costs down and provide local agriculture a reliable, high-quality water supply. Beginning in early summer 2013, the City of Ione will be constructing improvements at its wastewater treatment plant located at the corner of West Marlette Street and Dave Brubeck Road to improve treatment operations, disinfect secondary treated water, and convey some of the disinfected water adjacent lands to irrigate feed crops.  This project is intended to address the concerns raised in a Cease and Desist Order (CDO) issued by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (the Central Valley Board).
