National Night Out

NNO

National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event hosted by the Ione Police Department and other police agencies nationwide to enhance the partnership between citizens, businesses, and law enforcement communities.  This vital neighborhood network helps to make Ione an even safer place to live, work and raise our families.

Join the Ione Police Department and our partners for the 2023 National Night Out. This is the first year the Ione Police Department is participating in this event. This year we are bringing county-wide resources together for our community.

Space is limited, and all booths must be registered to participate by Friday, July 28th. Day of event registration will not be permitted! All participants should be in place by 4:45 pm and should plan to stay for the duration of the event.

Registration forms are available at the bottom of the page to register, or contact Officer Joe Andriola with the Ione Police Department at jandriola [at] ione-ca.com with questions. Thanks so much for helping to make National Night Out a special celebration for the Ione community.

About the Program

In 1984, the introduction of National Night Out, "America's Night Out Against Crime,” began as an effort to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organizing and fighting back

National Night Out now involves more than 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities from all fifty states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.

Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, emergency personnel visits, exhibits, and more.
